Obama like Jesus? Monday, Apr 12 2010

Some people confuse racism — preference given or denied due to one’s race, with Socialism — the political ideology of: “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need“. Therefore, they believe when someone says the agenda and actions of President Obama are socialistic, that the person who opposes him does so only because Obama is partly black. They will not deny he is a socialist, but will deflect the accusation with cries of racism, and justify his actions by comparing him to Jesus, who, in their minds, was a Socialist in His own right. Both positions, however, are incorrect.

I recommend David Chilton’s book, “Productive Christians in the Age of Guilt Manipulators” for deeper study, but will briefly address these two gross misnomers.

Jesus’ life and teachings promote truth, private property, and individual liberty with responsibility, which are foundational to the proper working of the free market. Regarding healthcare, Jesus never demanded His followers who were doctors (Luke, for example) to practice medicine at their own financial demise. He took nothing from anyone else to give sight, hearing, restored limbs, or the breath of life to those He touched. People received from Him freely, and He gave from His own resources — no one else’s.

Jesus did not continuously feed the poor, either. He never gave preference to someone because he was rich or poor — he treated all equally. On the three occasions when He fed the multitudes, they first listened to Him speak before receiving anything, and when He fed them (out of concern for their strength to travel home), He did so without collecting everyone’s food and redistributing it for all to share equally.

We must remember, too, that Jesus in no way worked for or represented the government. He did not command the government to go and do His work — He commanded His disciples. It is the job of the government to guarantee equal opportunity, not equal property. It is the responsibility of the church to help the poor — but he who refuses to work, shall not eat.

A worker is worth his wages, but not all work is equal, therefore, neither are wages.

Jesus lived a perfect life which included obeying the eighth commandment, “Do not steal”. If Obama wants to imitate Him, he can begin by keeping his hands out of the people’s pockets.

Three Worldviews Clamor for Dominance Wednesday, Dec 30 2009

The three competing political/economic philosophies in the world today are Humanism, Islam, and Christianity. These opposing philosophies result in three very different outcomes, yet each has the goal of complete world domination.

Humanism exalts man as its ultimate authority, uses man’s words to direct it, and implements violent revolution to further it. Mao’s axiom “Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun” summarizes how the Marxist-Leninist worldview overcomes all opposition. Revolutionaries view themselves as saviors of the world who must control every thought and action in order to achieve the promised utopia — meanwhile imprisoning, torturing, and killing anyone who resists. Accordingly, creativity is stifled, productivity stops, and prosperity is impossible.

Islam, with Allah as its god, establishes a militaristic theocracy that is brutal to its members through oppressive sharia law set forth in the Koran. War, or jihad, is at its very heart, and the oft-suicidal efforts of Islam’s members to kill their enemies are highly esteemed. Islam squelches the advancement of technology, industry, and invention wherever it prevails. Like Humanism, the consolidation of prosperity to the ruling class, forces the masses to suffer in abject poverty with no hope of improvement.

Finally, the Christian philosophy, using the Judeo-Christian Bible as its code of ethics, liberates societies to be free, productive, and unique. Biblical law protects private property, thus allowing people to enjoy the fruit of their labor. Members within a Christian society are able to choose in what manner and to what degree they want to prosper, and are given the liberty to succeed or fail.

The United States of America, founded on the Christian philosophy of politics and economics a mere 200 years ago, has advanced civilization throughout the earth farther and faster than ever before experienced by man. Unfortunately, our nation is drifting more and more away from the prosperity inducing Christian principles into the murky waters of Humanism, while cowering to the demands of Islam. Consequently, the so-called elites in government strip us of our freedom, while exempting themselves from their own tyranny. Thus, prosperity wanes.

It is the Christian political and economic philosophy of liberty for all, not just a few, which has made our country prosperous. We must refuse Humanism and Islam. We must uphold our constitution. We must return to our God — or we will perish like Rome before us.

Summit and Climate Change Thursday, Oct 8 2009

Two weeks ago I attended a fabulously organized and well attended gathering of women from throughout the country in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event’s premise was that Climate Change, previously known as Global Warming, is occurring at an alarming rate, and the debate is over. From that vantage point, each breakout session I attended supported the economy crushing Cap and Trade bill which requires Americans to live less comfortably. This oppressive piece of legislation will determine how much we drive, what cars we drive, at what temperature we keep our homes, and ultimately, how many children we have. Apparently, evil Americans are polluting and propagating at such high levels we must sacrifice our lifestyle, and posterity, to save the earth.

What is the true root of this unscientifically supported supposition vehemently advocated by environmental radicals? A huge leap of faith is necessary in order to accept the premise that man (Americans) and his inventions exude such levels of carbon dioxide that the earth’s ozone layer will be gone in 20 years. Ultimately, one must believe there is no God who created or sustains the earth, leaving it up to mankind to save the world. The belief of no supreme authority above man comes directly from the Humanist Manifesto — the cornerstone of Humanism. Humanism, as decided by the Supreme Court of the United States, is a religion. . Therefore, the foundation of the environmentally challenged theory of the earth’s demise by Climate Change is a religious one.

A Call2Fall Friday, Sep 11 2009

Today is September 11 — the date immortalized in the annals of time as one of the most tragic days in American history along with the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941.

FRC Director, Tony Perkins, spearheaded a national call to prayer scheduled for today at noon.

I attended our local gathering with approximately two dozen other people standing in the rain with umbrellas, listening to speakers proclaim our heritage, declare we are a Christian Nation, and encourage us to fast for our country. Perhaps the organizers in my town had a different understanding of the event’s purpose, because it didn’t coincide with mine. Albeit, I commend their effort to coordinate the event, and all who braved the weather believing God is our nation’s only hope.
