Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali Sunday, Aug 23 2009

This book is so engrossing, the story compelling, that I recommend putting it at the top of your reading list, especially if you’re interested in understanding Islam’s nature. The experiences of Hirsi Ali growing up, and her ability to free herself from ignorance through reading, are a testimony to the importance of a broad education. In her case, even “trash” love novels were instrumental in enlightening her to the idea that true love does exist, and romance can be experienced. I’m grateful for her strong clear voice, and her mission to expose the innate violence of Islam. It is a religion of regulations which are enforced through tyrannical methods. In fact, just recently, an actress in Malaysia, which is a Muslim nation, was seen drinking a beer, and now will be caned six times . . . not for punishment purposes, but for education. How tragic.

The Death of a Killer Monday, Jun 1 2009

We learned yesterday, and have heard all day today, that the infamous late-term abortionist Dr. Tiller was murdered in his church Sunday morning. I find it ironic that this man who had no qualm with taking the lives of over 60,000 children while in the sanctuary of their mothers’ womb, had his life snuffed out in the sanctuary of the Giver of life. I have no pity for the man, his wife, children, relations or associates — many pre-born lives will be saved as a result of his death. However, Tiller was protected under the law, and the man who took his life will suffer the consequences of breaking it. For him and his family, I feel sorry. We must be a nation that is under the rule of law. As barbaric as the work of Tiller was, to commit the same act of barbarism doesn’t right anything. In fact, I’m certain the pro-aborts are going to use this as a rally cry, and Tiller the Killer will be their poster child.
